Gas Mixing Applications
Gas Dilution & Division
NIST traceable, certified gas standards are used in many applications where a known gas mixture is required to create a baseline reference values for highly sensitive chemical analysis equipment. These precision, traceable standards are often used in gas chromatography, EPA protocols, automotive emissions testing, and wherever low concentration volatile organic compounds are being evaluated.
As an alternative to having multiple variations of these calibration standards on-hand, the Fusion Flow MXM platform can be used to further dilute and divide the expensive reference gas blends with a common diluent gas (N2 or Zero Air for example). This allows the user to generate a complete dilution profile; stair-stepped by any interval, or interpolated linearly. The MXM interface offers scripts, events, and detailed data logging as well, allowing the user to automate and record the entire process.
The MXM remote controller box coupled with end-user plumbed MFCs allow the MXM to employ highly accurate Alicat Scientific mass flow controllers, each with their own NIST traceable certificates. The proprietary MixModule will keep track of each gas flowed in real time, and make continuous self-evaluations against user-settable boundaries to ensure a proper blend is being created.
